Baby Nephew

My newest nephew was born yesterday to my sister, Katie, and brother-in-law, Joshua! He was sent straight from heaven and melted my heart the moment I heard he was born. I couldn't wait until Thanksgiving to meet him and see my amazing sister & her husband, so I drove the couple of hours down this morning while Daniel had to work (but just for the morning, thankfully). I could only stay for an hour and a half, but it was SO worth it! Words can't express how happy and grateful I am as his aunt and how proud I am of my sister, having that baby all naturale! Woo, what a woman. And now for an adorableness overload...

The best six months...

Sunday marked our six month anniversary! Oh my goodness, what an amazing time it has been! We celebrated with an afternoon in Fredericksburg, at Capital Ale House (they have the best burgers! & it's just a really cool spot). Sunday was the 'Burgs Holiday open house which means the Christmas decorations were out as well as some carolers! So lovely. We stopped at Carl's on our way out for some old-timey ice-cream cones. Good times, I love being married :)

I think being in Fredericksburg really got us in the Christmas mood...on our way home, we busted out the Christmas music and picked out our stockings from Target! Woohoo! We are so excited for our first holidays as newlyweds!

Happy Birthday to the USMC!

Saturday marked the birth date of the United States Marine Corps. In celebration, my officer and I attended the birthday ball in Richmond. It was so fun getting to dress up fancy and to see Daniel looking extra dapper in his dress blues ;). The cake was delicious, too.

Well, I was planning on making my blog public once I had a nice bank of recipes... I have now realized that it takes time to create and test recipes. The hardest part for me is actually writing them down. I'll make something up and it will turn out great, but then I have to make it again and actually accurately measure things! So, I have decided they will just have to come out slowly. In the mean time I really want to be posting updates of what Daniel and I are up to!

 Tomorrow will mark one month since we've moved into our apartment here in Stafford, Va. and we are truly loving it. Over this past weekend + monday a lot of fantastic things happened!
 
     : We purchased a second car! Woohoo! (just in time for the following...)
     : I got a job nannying for a little family just north of us.
     : The Packers won another game ;)
     : Daniel reported to his first duty station & had his first day at The Basic School!

 We feel SO blessed and really blown away with the goodness of the Lord.

And now for a few pictures! They are just phone quality and I haven't taken photos of our whole house yet, but this is just for now.
