Last weekend we went to our first Nationals baseball game. Being our first professional baseball game, it was awesome! The crowd's team spirit was so strong and is was fun to join in the cheering. Afterwards we metroed to capital hill to see the cherry blossoms. We were a little late, as most of the trees had already bloomed, but we did find some gorgeous spots! We didn't realize the cherry blossom festival was going on that weekend and ended up amongst thousands of people covering the sidewalks and also trying to take pictures with the prettiest trees. Hah, we should've know better. Despite all of that it was still lovely & we got some good pictures :).

picnic in alexandria

A couple of Sundays back we went to Alexandria for the afternoon and had a fruit picnic. It was one of the first warm days we've had since Winter and it was just wonderful! Alexandria is such a beautiful city, and you can walk from Trader Joe's to the park, which is kinda awesome. Here's the little video I made. Happy belated Spring! Cherry blossom photos to come next!

Happy Easter!

We celebrated Resurrection Sunday first at church and then came home to have a big brunch. I planned to start the cinnamon rolls the night before, but didn't realize the dough needed to rise 2.5 hours until 8 in the evening. So I instead woke up early to start them...  and was quite proud of how they turned out!

 ^^This is what happens when you try to take a picture with the camera perched on the couch + on timer shot. ^^ But hey, we documented our first Easter, right?

Later in the day, someone decided to show off his baking skills and make tons of homemade cliff bars for his next field exercise at work ;). 

And in case you were wondering, they're SO good. My fav flavor is peanut-butter choco-chip.
